What are the benefits of the Venus?
The device helps with a number of issues that are a result of the natural aging process. This includes hooded eyes, under eye bags, as well as sagging of the skin. The Venus de-puffs, soothes, tightens and helps add back some volume to the target skin areas in and around the eyes. As for use areas, it can be used on all skin contained within the eye socket, meaning all of the skin of the eyelids, as well as the area below and above the eyes. And as for benefits, it’s certainly more than just helping with fine line and wrinkles, as it has the anti-aging red light mode, the soothing & firming blue light mode (usually the red light mode is typically used first in the routine, with the blue light mode being used as the second step as the finishing step).
Is the Venus safe to use in the eye area?
Whereas our most popular face, neck and décolletage device, the Lumo, works excellent is offering skin tightening and rejuvenation, it is too powerful for the eyes, and this is the very reason we designed the Venus to be specially adapted for the eye area (all skin contained within the eye socket).
Thus, instead of deep penetration waves of the Lumo that go deeper on the rest of the face, we adapted a similar technology by way of thermal stimulation to offer the same 107 degree Fahrenheit of heating but for it to be much closer to the skin. Thus, while you don't feel the heat in the Lumo (in most cases) on the surface of your skin, with this Venus you will, and this is primarily also because we want to only heat up the thin eyelid skin without having any thermal penetration to the eyeball below.
Similarly, the LED light is adapted in its intensity to not be super strong like it is in our LED face mask (The Mirage Pro LED Face Mask), and thus this also helps with skin rejuvenation (as Red Light Therapy is well known for its anti-aging benefits).
The overall rejuvenation power of the Venus is around 10% that of the Lumo, and this is another reason why the Venus can be used up to a maximum of five times per week (with each session ideally less than ten minutes total for both eyes combined), whereas the Lumo is a typically only once-a-week usage product (to be used less than 25 minutes per week in total usage).
We hope this response has shed some light on your specific query but let us know if we left out something or if there's something else you'd like us to deliberate on.
How do you use the Venus?
To use the Venus, you begin with the lower eyelids (area below the tear duct), gently gliding the device across the lower eyelid, repeating this motion a few times before moving onto the other bottom eyelid. Afterwards, doing this same motion to the upper eyelids. The recommended usage time is a total of 8 minutes (4 per eye).
Does the Venus use microcurrent and RF?
The Venus uses the same concept like our flagship device, the Lumo, but with less intensity and no radio frequency or microcurrent. It combines red light phototherapy, sonic massaging, and thermal rejuvenation. Whereby, the eyelid skin temperature is raised by heating to 107 degrees Fahrenheit, all coming together to help tighten the eyelid skin, and to rejuvenate the collagen in the treated area.
How long do you use the Venus on the lips?
We advise a total duration of 5 minutes a day for both (upper and lower) lips combined, ideally 3 to 4 minutes in the red light mode, followed by the remaining minute or two in the blue light mode.
How does the thermal heating work?
The core is a RF core of the Venus, and it’s a fractional RF system which ultimately does not result in deep penetrating RF waves like it does in the Lumo, but instead heat is generated at 107 degrees Fahrenheit, which only goes around 2mm deep, which is ideal and intentionally calibrated as such since the skin around the eyes is much thinner than on the rest of the face.
What kind of serums can be used with the Venus?
The Venus can be used with any oil or water based anti-aging eye cream or serum. Although not required, a serum will definitely help with better conduction and usage of the device. Generally, our broad guidelines suggest using an eye product containing any or most of the following ingredients: vitamin C, vitamin A, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide & peptides.
What eye conditions are the Venus used to treat?
The Venus is specifically used to treat eye bags, lifting, tightening & firming eyelid skin, reducing dark circles, and smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles.
How to turn the Venus on?
Regarding our Venus device, kindly advise if you’re holding the metal part when you want the vibrations, such as when you want the products penetration, and the white part only when wanting to stimulate the collagen once all product has been absorbed but you still want to continue the LED and thermal stimulation (without the vibration). If you touch the silver trim while using the Venus, the device will vibrate, and if you do not touch it, the Venus is programmed to not vibrate, thus you may choose the vibration sensation based on preference.
In addition, you can simply switch to blue or red light mode by either short-pressing the power button (after the device has been charged and turned on) or by just simply shaking the device which will change modes from red to blue or vice versa. The Venus, just like the Lumo, has not been pre-programmed to turn on or switch modes, as that is upon the user preferences to switch between modes, as suited for them. Thus, when you turn on the device, please either short press the power button or shake the device, to see if it is switching between modes.
Is the Venus approved/certified?
There are two stages of clearance by the FDA, and are a graduated system for qualifying devices for retail sale. The first is ‘cleared’ badging/recognition, and the other is ‘approved.’ Beauty device manufacturers such as EvenSkyn are given discretion to choose at which level they want their device complying. Please note that compliance with either of the two is sufficient to enable the sale of such products to the public (as is already the case with Venus). Currently the first stage for clearance has been sought (& received), and as such, the Venus is able to sell to the markets.
However, do note that the full “approved” badging has not been sought, and is neither required, but may further be sought by EvenSkyn in the near future so the product can be branded as ‘FDA Approved,’ as opposed to the current badging ‘FDA Cleared.’ In addition, the Venus is already RoHS, CQC, CE and Health Canada approved. The device is also manufactured in our factory which has ISO 13485 certification for medical grade devices (where we also make our very popular face, neck and décolletage anti-aging handset: the EvenSkyn Lumo).
Do you have to use the Venus as stated in the Manual?
The routine in the manual is what we suggest as that is the ideal scenario to achieve the results we guarantee.
However, it's not necessary. With LED Phototherapy, Red and Blue lights work at different wavelengths to achieve different goals. Whereas Red light therapy reduces inflammation and stimulates collagen (and is thus ideal for reversing wrinkles and fine lines), Blue light helps kill bacteria, decreases scarring, and promotes anti-inflammatory effects (ideal for use at the end of treatment).
The user can use the Red light only, or the Blue one only if they wish.
Is it normal for my eyes to burn after using the Venus?
That is not typical of the experience of a user of the Venus. In rare instance some products that are used in conjunction can interact with the heat to be the reason to cause the irritated feeling.
We would recommend that you try another eye cream or serum when using the Venus, limit your usage to a shorter duration (in the interest of safety) and then try the device again. Feeling warm and some sensitivity during, and for a short duration after use has ended is normal, but again, a 'burning' sensation is not one that we want you to feel if it goes beyond feeling tolerable warmth in the treated areas.
Kindly switch to a different products and try it for a brief period to see if that helps to eliminate the issue.
